CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Congress has called an all party meeting to condemn ruling Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) for installing portrait of late Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala in Sikh museum inside the Golden Temple Complex in Amritsar.
The Congress has asked the SAD to clarify its stand on the installation of a portrait of slain Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who propogated Khalistan, at the Sikh Museum in the Golden Temple in Amritsar. "I want to ask why SAD is maintaining silence on this issue and not clarifying its stand. We also want to ask why the party allowed the installation of Bhindranwale's portrait in the museum at Harmandir Sahib in a hurried manner and even tried to hide this fact from the public," state president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal told reporters here after holding a meeting of MLAs and senior leaders. "We have convened an all-party meeting of all secular parties to chastise the government on the installation of the portrait," she said.
