AMRITSAR:The Excise and Taxation Department has seized about 24 kg of gold jewellery from a goldsmith Mahinder Singh of Bazaar Gujranawala here on sunday morning the worth of the seized would be more than Rs 2 crore.

Assistant excise and taxation commissioner, mobile wing,Rajpal Singh, said Mahinder brought the contraband from Delhi and was nabbed near Beas after specific information. He was coming in an Indica car (PB02-AX-4046) when he was intercepted by the department.
