PATIALA: Punjab police Monday said that second accused involved in the murder of a Patiala trader Anu Jain has been identified and will be arrested soon. Anu Jain was shot dead on December first when he was closing his shop.
Two youth with covered faces approached Anu Jain and demanded money, he was carryign with him. On being refused, the miscreants whot him dead. One of the accused Nirmal Singh resident of Jujhar Nagar here was banned on spot due to exemplary courage shown by Ashu Jain brother of the deceased. A case FIR No. 557 dated 01.12.2007 u/s 394/307/34 IPC, 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Sadar Patiala was registered on the statement of Anu Jain s/o Late Sh. Darshan Lal Jain r/o House No. 4, New Lal Bagh Colony, Patiala against Nirmal Singh s/o Surjit Singh r/o House No. 15, Street No. 1, Jujhar Nagar Patiala and others. The other accused has been identified as Rajinder Kumar @ Rinku. Raids are being conducted and shall be nabbed shortly, police said. SHO Sadar Patiala Inspector Daljit Singh Virk and DSP/ Rural Devinder Singh, who reached the spot took the accused in custody and recovered one revolver 455 bore which was used in crime. Senior officers Gurmeet Singh Chauhan, Superintendent of Police, Detective, Patiala and Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police, City, Patiala are supervising the investigation.
