Haryana CM orders inquiry into thrashing of mediamen |

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda Tuesday ordered an enquiry with an immediate effect by Commissioner, Rohtak Division, J.P.Kaushik to look into the circumstances leading to the injuries caused to mediapersons as a result of lathi charge on some persons who were agitating in Karnal on December 1 last.
Hooda, who was interacting with a delegation of mediapersons from Karnal, led by President of Haryana Patarkar Sangh, K.B.Pandit, at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi regretted the unfortunate incident in which some mediapersons were injured and assured them of full protection. He directed the concerned officers to get the damaged cameras replaced at the expenses of the State Government. The Chief Minister assured the mediapersons that those officers and police personnel, who would be found guilty during the investigation, would invite stern action against themselves. K.B.Pandit, President of Haryana Patarkar Sangh and Vijay Sabarwal, President of Haryana Accrediated Journalists Union appreciated the gesture of the Chief Minister to order an enquiry by Commissioner, Rohtak Division and get the damaged cameras replaced at the expenses of the Government. |
