PATIALA: Baba Balbir Singh, the Working Chief of Nihang Sect Budha Dal said here Saturday that there was no need to shift sect head Baba Santa Singh from the Bagihci Nihang Singh (rest place of Nihangs) here at Patiala to PGI for his further treatment.

Addressing a news conference Baba Balbir Singh claimed that Baba Santa Singh was in good health and two doctors round the clock has been taking care of Baba Santa Singh. He however refuted the demand of Bhai Joginder Singh to Shift Baba Santa Singh to PGI. 

Baba Joginder Singh of Bathinda in a meeting held at Ludhiana yesterday has made this demand. He has alleged that Baba Balbir Singh has forcibly kidnapped Baba Santa Singh and he is not in good health. In the said meeting many Nihangs have refused to accept Baba Balbir Singh as the next chief of the Nihang sect. 

Baba Balbir Singh has clarified and claimed that Baba Santa Singh himself appointed him the chief of the sect. He however alleged that Baba Joginder Singh has been playing in the hands of Baba Surjit Singh and Udey Singh who have killed his father and brothers on September 21 this year here at Patiala. Both were still at large and yet to be arrested by the police. Baba Balbir Singh has alleged that Punjab police not taking much interest to arrest both of them.

He however demanded that investigation of this case should be handed over to an independent agency like CBI. He has further alleged that Surjit Singh and Udey Singh have been hatching a conspiracy to eliminate him too. He said that he has received few threatening calls and he has reported this matter to the police. 

Surjit singh and Udey Singh allegedly killed Baba Assa Singh, father of Baba Balbir Singh, Brothers Jagdish Singh, Bhajan Singh and nephew Karamjit Singh on September 21. 

Later Baba Balbir Singh took media persons to the bedroom of Baba Santa Singh where Baba Santa Singh did not respond the wishes of media persons. It seemed the condition of Baba Santa Singh is not good and he is facing mental health problem or it is plausible that he himself is not fully aware of the events which are occurring around him.

Baba Santa Singh is in condition that he unable to speak, hear or freely move any part of his body without support and has little or no awareness of his surroundings.
