JALANDHAR: Senior Journalist, Punjabi writer and veteran freedom fighter Ajit Saini die here Monday after brief illness. He was associated with Daily Ajit newspaper for long time.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed profound grief and sorrow our sad demise Ajit Saini. In a condolence message the Chief Minister said that Saini was a multi-faceted personality who served in the Indian National Army (INA) and made a significant contribution towards the Indian freedom struggle. As a noted Journalist and an eminent Columnist Ajit Saini through his prolific writings in the esteemed columns of regional and national newspapers proved to be instrumental brining social awakening amongst the down-trodden and unprivileged section of the society. In his death "a void has been created in the literary circles which was difficult to be filled", said Badal. Badal also expressed his heart felt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family and pray to be Almighty to give strength to bear this irreparable lose and grant peace to the departed soul. Meanwhile, Member Parliament and Working President SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal also mourned the death of Mr. Ajit Saini and described him as a true patriot who rekindles the spirit of patriotism and nationalism amongst the youth through his valiant writings. Information & Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also shared his condolences with the family members of Ajit Saini and described him a dedicated Journalist who was a staunch supporter of value based Journalism. Media Advisor the Chief Minister Harcharan Bains also condoled the death of Mr. Ajit Saini and said Mr. Ajit Saini was the champion of the freedom of press who believed in the principled journalism and propagated the ethics of journalism. |
