PATIALA: Gian Sagar Medical College and hospital will act globally to invite patients for the treatment of chronicle diseases and will encourage medical tourism in the state.

The one of its own kind in Northern India equipped with latest technology located on National highway-64 near Banur of this district. The distance from Chandigarh, which also has rail head and airport is only 35 kms. The nearest railway junction Rajpura is only 8 km from the hospital.

The director principal A.S. Sekhon said here Tuesday that a separate has been building constructed for 350-bedded hospital as well as college for 100 MBBS students as per norms of Medical Council of India. It is equipped with latest equipments in laboratories and latest audio-visual aids for teaching and training of medical students.

Sekhon said that hospital has been constructed with latest structural design. The designed has been made by country's top most architect company for hospital sector  Hospitech Consultant'.

Managed by Gian Sagar education Trust has spent over Rs. 1000 crores in it which is spread over in 100 acres.

He said that the over 100 crores have been spent on the equipment which was installed in the hospital, one of the best in the world, the Space lab, a US company, has installed ventilators and other technologies in the ultra modern hospital. The Space lab has been providing equipment to NASA also.

Describing infrastructure of the hospital Sekhon said that it has the capacity of state of art eleven Operation Theatres with ultramodern equipments.
 
The anesthesia work stations were hi tech with multi parameter & hi-tech monitors in all Operation Theatres & Recovery Areas with the facilities for all types of endoscopic Surgeries, he added.

Regarding the ICU and ICCU he said that the ICUs also housed 20 Bedded equipped with Hi-Tech Monitors & Ventilators with central Monitoring System and 24 hrs emergency & ICU services.

He said that there was separate surgical ICU and 10 bedded Neonatal/ Paediatric ICU with all facilities available 24 hrs.

The central ABG & Complete Lab. Analysis facilities are too available for 24 hrs. The Blood Bank facility which is fully equipped is available for 24 hrs. He said that the charges of hospital was very nominal and that was too less than corporate sector hospitals and even less than hospitals run by Punjab Health corporation as the aim of the hospital is 'philanthropic'. 

He said that the hospital has received tremendous response as it may be in its infancy stage. He said that Hospital has opened to general public in June this year as its construction was started in March-2006.
