CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has decided to clear all pending cases of the dependents of deceased teachers and others employees of the State Education Department for recruitment on compassionate ground as early as possible.
Disclosing this here Wednesday Dr. Upinderjit Kaur, Education Minister Punjab said that she has fulfilled the promise made to the teachers to initiate the fresh recruitment and promotion processes and to provide jobs on priority basis to the dependents of departmental employees who died in harness. She was speaking after handing over appointment letters to 41 persons employed on compassionate ground in a function held here today. She advised the genuine beneficiaries to assist the department in completing their cases and submit the required documents to the directorate at the earliest. She further added that directions have been issued to the concerned officers of the department to expedite all backlog cases so that the affected families get the benefit of employment at the earliest. The beneficiaries who got appointment letters today included 6 teachers, 32 clerks and 3 peons. Reiterating his government's commitment to improve the quality of education and infrastructure in state run schools besides redressing the genuine grievances of the teachers and other employees of the department, the Minister assured that the pending cases for the promotions of Masters, Lecturers, Head Teachers and Principals have been cleared. In order to maintain transparency during the recruitment and promotion process, Dr. Upinderjit Kaur warned that unfair means or corruption would not be tolerated at any cost. |
