Punjab set up panel to investigate fee overcharging by medical colleges |

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government Tuesday constituted a five member special investigation team to check the overcharging of fees by private medical institutes including Nursing/ Pharmaceutical/ Para-medical/Ayurvedic and Homeopathic and Medical institutes running in the State.
Disclosing this here Tikshan Sud, Medical Education & Research Minister said that he had been receiving complaints from various quarters regarding overcharging of fees by some institutes. He said that this team would conduct surprise raids on various medical institutes to check irregularity and overcharging in fee collections. The Minister said that a committee would include Dr. Jai Kishan, Professor and Deputy Medical Superintendent, T.B. Hospital Patiala , Dr. Dharm Veer Professor of Ophthalmology, Govt. Medical College Amritsar, Dr. L.L. Gambhir, Associate Professor Skin, Govt. Medical College Amritsar, Dr. G.S. Rai Associate Professor, Forensic Medicines and Dr. Ashwani Sharma Associate Professor Govt. Medical College Amrtisar. |
