Representing France based United Sikhs forum Gurdial Singh said he was not getting adequate support from Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) the supreme body of Sikhs. He called upon Indian government to pursue the case with French counterparts more effectively.

"On claims raised by us on different issues courts demand proofs or a law but it is no where documented due to which our claims stands weakened," were the views of Gurdial Singh a citizen of France and contesting case against France government decision to ban wearing of turbans by Sikhs. He added that all the issues, faith and precedence be documented in Sikh personal law.

Gurdial Singh announced that the Sikhs have weakened in French courts have decided to take up matter in European court of Law and later to International court of justice if need arises. Talking to media persons in Patiala he said that he has been living in France for last 28 years but have no got the right to wear turban while photographed for identity cards, driving license and even passports. He added that Sikh children are not allowed to go school with their turban.

Talking about latest Law passed by France in year 2004 when wearing religious symbols was also banned being contested by the Sikhs, Gurdial Singh feared that in case the law was implemented in France, European countries would also follow it.
