Chandigarh Admin to launch Pulse Polio Immunization Drive on Feb 10 Print E-mail

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Administration will be carrying out Pulse Polio Immunization Drive in UT, Chandigarh on National Immunization Day on February 10 from 9 am to 4 pm. UT Home Secretary, Krishna Mohan said that the aim of the Immunization Drive is to ensure that children below five years are vaccinated, thereby ensuring the prevention of circulation of polio virus.

While giving this information Mohan revealed that, along with the setting up of 454 stationary booths and 93 mobile booths, 2100 personnel have been deployed from the Departments of Health, Education, Social Welfare, police and NGOs. The personnel consist of area supervisors, sector supervisors and vaccinators for the Immunization Drive. Independent Monitors will also be deputed to monitor the activities during the campaign, he further added.

Home Secretary has also appealed all the parents having children below the age of 5 years to participate in the drive by immunizing their children on this day in addition to their routine immunization in order to ensure a healthy and disability future of their children and make the Campaign a huge success.
