CHANDIGARH: The Athletic Federation of India has reportedly disaffiliated Association of Indian Universities and few North-East state associations for not perform according to the norms fixed by the Federation.

Uttrakhand State Athletic Association has been given permanent affiliation by the AFI. These decisions were taken in the annual general body meeting held in New Delhi last week.

Besides electing new office-bearers for the next four-year term up to 2012, the AFI also finalised the calendar for 2008. The AFI will conduct three international competitions -- Senior South Asian Championships at Kochi; Junior South Asian Championships at Pune and Asian All Star Athletics Meet at Bhopal. The dates will be finalised later.

The Tamil Nadu Athletic Association will conduct the National Inter- State Senior Athletics Championships from June 9 to 12 in Chennai. Cohin has been decided the veune of the National Open Athletics Championships which will be organised from September 29 to October 1.

National Institute of Sports in Patiala will play host to the Indian Grand Prix which will organised on February 21 and Uttar Pradesh will conduct the North Zone Junior Athletics Championships from August 17 to 19.
