LUDHIANA: All India Congress Committee secretary and party's spokesman Manish Tewari has strongly condemned the SAD-BJP Government for the prevailing power crisis in the state.

In a hard hitting statement, Tewari lambasted the Punjab government for its failure to meet power requirements and said that industrial, agriculture and domestic sectors are facing immense difficulty on account of long power cuts. 

Ridiculing the claims of the SAD-BJP alliance, made in their election manifesto regarding providing 24 hours power supply, the AICC spokesman stated that power crisis had acquired such alarming proportions in past few months that now perturbed with the present scenario vis-à-vis power; people of the state are ready to come on roads against the wrong and anti-people policies of state government.

Terming the decision of imposition of two weekly offs for industry as extremely detrimental for the industrial growth, Tewari announced that Congress rank and file is all set to take cudgels against the misrule of the SAD-BJP government. Tewari said that if things were not brought under control soon by the state government, there is strong apprehension of industrial units migrating to other states.

He added that Punjab government is running away from crucial issue regarding the deteriorating fiscal health of the state. He said that so far state government has miserably failed to put the economy of Punjab on track.

Flaying the SAD-BJP government for imposition of entry tax, Tewari that one year rule of SAD-BJP is enough to gauge the poor performance of government on all fronts. He also accused the state government of completely overlooking the needs and requirements of the common man.

Tewari further alleged that situation of complete lawlessness prevails in Punjab with crime graph witnessing a constant increase ever since SAD-BJP came to power. He also claimed that it was Congress government that brought investment worth thousands of crores in Punjab by the way of mega projects. "Akali's have done nothing. The big projects, which are now being undertaken in Punjab are all those, which were finalized during Congress regime", he told media persons.

Tewari reiterated that Congress is all geared up for giving a befitting reply to the SAD-BJP in next general elections. "Akali's will loose all parliamentary constituencies in Punjab only on the issue of poor power supply, what to talk about rest of the failures of SAD-BJP government", he asserted.
