SGPC executive condemn Haryana govt for attacking on Parveen Print E-mail

FATEHGARH SAHIB: A meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) executive was held under the president ship of Avtar Singh Makkar at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.

Sources said that during the meeting some pro Badal SGPC members also raised their objections on various issues.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, Makkar said that various important decisions were taken in the meeting. He said that the executive condemned recent arrest of an innocent girl Parveen in a case of conspiracy against Dera Sacha Saudha chief.

The role of Haryana government also condemned in the meeting.  When asked Punjab BJP president Rajinder Bhandari has given statement against Parveen, Makkar said that he can not comment on that.

He said that SGPC made an appeal to Pakistan government to release Sarabjit Singh and India government to release Devinder Singh Bhullar, who has been sentenced death punishment. He said that the SGPC had already taken up the matter.

He said that the SGPC will write a letter to all Member Parliaments of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to take up turban issue.  He said that letters will also write to Sikh MLAs to take up the case in their respective assemblies.

He said that Rs 80 lakh will be spent on Rest House in memory of Bhai Joga Singh in Hazoor Sahib. He said that efforts are made to modernize Golden Offset Press of SGPC. He said a place will be developed at Darli in Himachal Pardesh as SGPC has got control of it.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, Karnail Singh Panjoli said that during the meeting he urged SGPC president to criticize the role of Punjab government in Parveen arrest but he was not ready to condemn the role of Punjab government but only condemn the role of Haryana government only. 

He said that when the issue of Rs 4 crore to Guru Ram Das College, Amritsar was raised in the meeting, he opposed it and asked SGPC president about its reasons. He said that SGPC president told the executive that Rs 4 crore was given to the college from SGPC funds for increasing its seats, which is in favour of Sikh community.

He said that he raised various objections over working of the college and SGPC general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur intervene to requested him to pass the resolution. He said that he did not object to the resolution as the SGPC president assured him that he will give him all details in next SGPC meeting.
