PANCHKULA: In a tie to be remembered for a long time by the spectators present, Akhbar XI won convincingly by 115 runs in a friendly tie between Samachar XI comprising the media players and Akhbar XI comprising players from the ICL Teams.

The Akhbar Team won the toss and decided to bat first. Riding on a flourishing start given to them by the opener Taufeeq Umar who scored 44 runs from 22 balls faced and Hasan Raza, who retired at 61 of 26 balls to the relief of the Samachar Bowlers and fielders.

The Akhbar team went on to make a towering score of 209 in the assigned twenty overs while loosing 4 wickets in the process.

In their turn the Samachar team did not even reach 50 % of the target and the inning came to a stuttering halt at a total of 94 for 5.

The main Scorers in the first innings were Hasan Raza 61 of 26 balls, Taufeeq Umar 44 of  22 balls, Riaz Afridi 31 of 08 balls. Jaipal took two wickets off 52 balls while Subhash and Umesh took one wicket each. 

In the second innings  Kamleshwar made 29 of 20 balls while the skipper Vikrant Gupta made 23 of 23 balls.  Rocky and Rajesh Chauhan from the Akhbar team took two wickets each while Taufeeq Umar took the remaining wicket.
