CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Thursday extended his warm greetings to the people on Holi-the festival of colours.

In a message, Badal said that Holi had a special significance in our centuries-old cultural heritage that propagated the unity of mankind, tolerance and compassion.

"Such festivals not only promote the communal harmony but also bring cheers and inculcate the fundamental and eternal values among the people as enshrined in our ancient Indian Culture".

Badal appealed the people to celebrate this joyous occasion in unison with religious fervor and gaiety rising above of the petty considerations of caste, colour and creed.
