AMRITSAR: All India Human Rights Association (NGO) along with their members of the association Thursday took out Peace march in the city, urging Pakistan Government for unconditional clemency to Indian National Sarabjit Singh lodged in the Kotlakhpatrai Jail at Lahore in Pakistan.

Sukhpreet Kaur wife of Sarabjit Singh also took part in the Peace March. Peace march was led by Hava Singh Tavar.

Tawar said that during peace march a letter bearing request to Pakistan Government to extend clemency to Sarabjit also sent to Pakistan Government here Thursday.

Sarabjit Singh in the year of 1990 had crossed over to Pakistan in state of inebriated, wherein he was nabbed by the Pakistani Rangers and later tried in the series of Bomb Blasts on the name of Manjit Singh.

However, Pakistan police had alleged in the court of law that all 14 people were killed in the four bomb blasts allegedly carried out by the Indian national Manjit Singh as he was an Indian spy and entered Pakistan through the Punjab border to disturb the peace and tranquility of the Pakistan.

Supreme Court of Pakistan had already awarded death sentence to Sarabjit Singh. Recently President of Pakistan has turned down the mercy petition of Sarabit Singh and fixed April 1 for hanging which was deferred yesterday for the next 30 days.
