DHARMSHALA: Tibetan Prime Minister in-exile Samdhong Rinpoche, said here Monday that more than 130 people have died in Tibet.

"Total number of deaths until now is not less than 130-140 which are confirmed. But...it shows that this much is confirmed and actual numbermust be much more, but there is no confirmation. no way to confirm,"said Samdhong Rinpoche.

Rinpoche added that the resistance and protests have now spread tovarious parts of Tibet and are more violent in nature. He requested people to understand the feelings of the exiles.

"I understand their emotions", he said.

"Although I may not be able to appreciate their action but everybody should understand how they feel inside. And they are not storming with happiness, they are storming knowing the consequences but yet due to their heightened emotions, they have done this," said Rinpoche.

He also said that the protestors and marchers have been urged to comply with the rules and respect the law of the land.
