FATEHGARH SAHIB: The members of IMA submitted a  memorandum to Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner, SP and demanded immediate action against those, who threatened owners of Bawa Nursing Home, Bassi Pathana .

They termed this incident as an assault on the medical profession.

Meanwhile on the call of IMA private nursing homes, hospital, clinics and chemists observed bandh in the district Monday to lodge their protest against the unlawful seize and threatening the owners of the nursing by the supporters of the deceased.

The IMA members alleged that certain people made calls to a doctor of Bawa Nursing Home on cell and demanded Rs.10 Lakh in lieu of a compromise.

They said that the telephone numbers have been traced, they threatened Dr. N.S.Bawa that if they failed to pay money, his surgeon son would be killed.

It may be mentioned here that supporters of Nirmal Singh put his body in front of Bawa Nursing Home and blocked traffic.

They alleged that Nirmal Singh died due to alleged negligence on the part of doctors of the nursing home.

The blockade was lifted only with the intervention of some local Akali leasders after the assurance to the deceased family to pay compensation to them.

It was tough time for police to control the situation. Police did not register any case against any party  in this case when the protest was carried out but IMA announced on Sunday to observe bandh on Monday.
