CHANDIGARH: The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) and Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Chandigarh will organize a mini seminar on Prevention and Control of Diabetes - "Update of Treatment of Diabetes in 2008" in UT Guest House, Sector 6 Wednesday.
Director Health Services, Dr. Manjit Singh Bains will inaugurate the seminar. NVBDCP would also organize an exhibition named "Knock Out Diabetes" at UT Guest House on March 26. About 20 panels carrying out messages for balanced diet and life style activities and Prevention and control measures for diabetes would be displayed. The exhibition is likely to draw the attention of large number of participant's suffering from Diabetes in Chandigarh. The exhibition would remain open till afternoon. There will be series of lectures by the experts during the mini seminar. The main speaker will be MD, Christiana Care Health System, Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases Centre, Newark, Delware, USA, Dr. Ripudaman S. Hundal. He will speak on the update of treatment of Diabetes-2008. The other speakers who will deliver lectures during the seminar include Assistant Director Health (Malaria & VBD)-cum-State Surveillance Officer UT, Dr. Rajinder K. Sharma, Anti Malaria Officer-cum-State Nodal Officer, H.C. Gera, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, PGI, Dr. J.S. Thakur and Professor and Head of Department of Community Medicine, GMCH- 32, Dr. N.K. Goyal. The seminar will be attended by all SMO's of dispensaries and Hospitals and Programme Officers and other participants including the representatives of GOI, Chandigarh. |
