CHANDIGARH:Ropar Thermal Plant has set a record by generating 9806.06 million units during the financial year 2007-08 while Lehra Mohabatt thermal plant made record generation of 3508.6 million units.
According to official sources the previous record of generation was 9770.34 million units in the financial year 2006-07 while this figure was crossed by GGSSTP Monday.
The plant load factor achieved during financial year2007-08 was 88.60 percent against the previous best of 88.52 percent achieved in 2006-07. VB Bassi Dy. Chief Engineer operations told PunjabNewsline.com that besides record generation this year DM Water consumption has been reduced to 1.69 ml/unit against earlier record of 1.76 ml per unit. He said that for the three years new records has been set up in generation every year. Official sources also said that the performance of two thermal units at Lehra Mohabat had also been equally commendable. The plant generated record generation of 3508.6million units with plant load factor of 95.2 percent in the just concluded financial year. The previous record generation was 3443.17 million units. The plant load factor of unit number 1 was 99.2 percent The lowest oil consumption of 0.228 ml per unit was also achieved this year In total, the board has broken the previous record of 15,434.64 MUs by generating 16,273.516 MUs in 2007-08. Praising engineers, chairman, PSEB, Y. S. Ratra Tuesday said for the first time all three thermal plants had broken previous records of generation. |
