LONDON: Killing all the five persons on board a private jet has crashed into a housing estate in Farnborough, Kent, south of London.

The sources said that the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the Cessna Citation one jet, which was en route from nearby Biggin Hill airfield to France, crashed into a house and burst into flames destroying a garage.

Two pilots and three passengers, one of whom was David Leslie, former Touring Car Champion, were killed.

Police said they have found no survivors amid the flaming wreckage.

Andrew Walters, chairman of Biggin Hill Airport, said the three passengers were on a business trip to France. The pilot had made an emergency call and asked for permission to land again immediately after the plane took off.

"Unfortunately it crashed before reaching the airport," Walters said.
