CHANDIGARH: As part of its induction drive, the Indian Navy has invited applications for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers for the Aviation Cadre (Pilot) of Executive Branch for the Jan 2009 course at Naval Academy.

SSC is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance and willingness of the candidate.  On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules.  Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the navy.

Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and would undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Goa. This will be followed by stage –I and Stage –II flying training at Air Force Academy and Naval establishments. On successful completion of stage-II training the Cadets will be awarded Wings and commissioned as Sub-Lieutenants.
