BATHINDA: Education plays a vital role in shaping the destiny of any nation or society besides developing one's personality to become an ideal citizen, these views were expressed by Punjab Chief Minister by Parkash Singh Badal while presiding over a function organized by the State School Education Department here at Government Rajindera College to handover the appointment letters to the newly selected educational services providers including masters/mistresses and teaching fellows (ETT/JBT) cadre.
He said the entire appointment procedure for the recruitment of government school teachers under different categories had been completed. The Chief Minister said that the state government had already embarked upon an ambitious programme to upgrade the infrastructure in the 351 government senior secondary schools at the cost Rs. 142 crore to impart quality education to the students in science and commerce stream. Badal said that all the newly recruited teachers would be in their palace well before the start of current academic session. Speaking on the occasion Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur said that the entire selection procedure has been completed in a transparent manner and all the teachers had been selected purely on the merit. She also stated that the department would dispatch appointment letters to all the selected candidates positively by April 20. She also informed that 438 classical & vernacular teachers and 246 masters/mistresses had been directly appointed by the department. Apart from this 25 teachers and 91 clerks had been appointed on the compassionate grounds against the posts of the deceased employees of the education department. On the occasion Badal handed over 154 and 107 appointment letters to the candidates selected as masters/mistresses and ETT/JBT teachers respectively. |
