Applications invited for admission to three new sainik schools

CHANDIGARH: The Board of Governors (BoG) of Sainik School Society, Ministry of Defence, GoI has invited applications from the students, for entrance test, aspiring to take admission in the three new Sainik Schools at Chandrapur (Maharashtra), Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh) for the academic session 2019-20.

BoG of Sainik School Society has informed that entrance exam for admission to Class VI of the aforesaid Sainik Schools would be held on April 21, 2019 to enable the students desirous of seeking admission in these schools during the current academic session.

In accordance with the decision of BoG, boys in order to be eligible to take the exam for admission to class VI should be between the age of 10 to 12 years as on March 31, 2019. The last date of online registration would be March 29, 2019.15% and 7½% seats were reserved for admission of boys belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes respectively. Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats would be reserved for boys from the state in which the Sainik School is located. Balance 33% left over of seats would be thrown open to boys from other states and union Territories in the ratio of their male population any unutilized seats in this category would be merged with home states seats in order to merit. 25% seats were also reserved for the boys of service personnel including ex-servicemen.
