AMRITSAR: BJP senior leader and probable for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hit out at the state Congress Government for stalling all development works meant for the `holy city’. He said the works initiated by the previous SAD-BJP regime are stopped and no new project worth the name has been started by Captain govt. in the last two years.

Addressing various public meetings at Ranjit Avenue, Islamabad, Kot Khalsa, Chhina said the Congress made tall promises during the assembly polls and resorted to luring the voters but is not serious to undertake development works for the city which witness over one lakh visitors daily including devotees to Harmandar Sahib.

Chhina accused the Congress Govt. for its failure to curb the deteriorating civic conditions and not taking concerted action to sustain and improve the infrastructure. He claimed that there is widespread insanitary conditions, wreaked city roads, big potholes, sewerage-flooded streets, littered garbage and non functional sewage systems which is seen every where in the city.

He came down heavily on Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh for playing petty politics on Jallianwala Bagh centenary function and how he ignored Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and ignoring Union government’s functions, organized his own parallel program. He said during such solemn programs Captain could have avoided playing the local politics and should have extended welcome to Vice President as per protocol.

Chhina meanwhile said Captain has failed to improve state economy and generating jobs for the youth who are left with no option but to head for green pastures abroad in US, Canada and Australia. ``No industry has been opened and no jobs are being created. The youth is left to lurch”, alleged Chhina adding that the Congress has no right to seek for the votes of the people after being exposed of making false promises.
