MOHALI: Two borthers of pakki rurki in kharar were awarded life term after being convicted of killing a labourer in 2014.
District and session judge Archana Puri also imposed a fine of rs.20,000 each on convicts Zora singh and Harchand singh. District attorney Gurdeep Singh said the victim, Parwinder Singh Laddi,worked as a labourer for Zora. On March 27, 2014, Laddi never returned home from work. His father Balwant singh tried calling him, but his mobile was switched off.
After some time Zora's brother Harchand visited Laddi's father and told him that his son had fallen off the roof of their house and was bleeding. When Bawant reached Zora's house he found his son dead. Intially, a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered at the Kharar police station. Later, the autopsy report pointed out that Laddi's skull was broken and he had many injuries on the body.
Police probe also revealed that Zora and his brother were into some criminal activities that Laddi came to know of. Police then invoked sec.302(murder) against the brother due to and aressted them.
