CHANDIGARH: Mahila Congress Punjab will present a memorandum on the issue total breakdown of Law and Order in the state to the Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh tomorrow at Halwara airbase near Ludhiana.
Disclosing this Dr Malti Thapar, President Mahila Congress Punjab, said that the Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh will be briefed about the lawlessness in the state and especially the apathy of women folk after the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal government took over.
“ It is a very shameful that how the people of Punjab are allowing the SAD- BJP government of Punjab to remain on power, which is being run by a mafia of criminals. Our Chief Minister has lost grip on his Party and his Government, so he should hear to his inner conscious and immediately resign. The Deputy Chief Minister who is having home portfolio must submit his resignation,” said Thapar.
Dr Thapar said killing of an ASI during broad day light by Akali goons for protecting his daughter showed spinelessness of the police force. In the last three years right from the unfortunate incident of Tehsildar Benipal in Ludhiana the organized criminal mafia in the grab of Akali workers is behind all the organized crime in the state.
“Had Akali Government in state taken a stand for giving justice to innocent teenager Shruti, must have given lesson to other criminals. The opposition of Punjab Police for handing over Shruti case to CBI in Punjab High Court shows that Akali Leadership is scared that if this case is investigated by CBI their role will get exposed,” Mahila Congress leader added.
“The so called arrest of the culprit after encounter is just a eye wash to cool the tempers of people. Today 90% of crime organized in Punjab is at the behest SAD leaders. It seems that SAD government has given license of ‘molestation’ to Akali workers.”
Punjab Mahila Congress president said a delegation of the women’s wing will soon visit the victim’s family and ensure that justice prevailed.
