NAWANSHAHR: Taking serious note of the inconvenience being caused to public due to the ongoing tug- of-war between the ruling SAD-BJP combine and the opposition Congress on the issue of affixing photographs of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the 108 Ambulances in the state, an NGO- the Human Empowerment League of Punjab ( HELP) in communication sent to the Chief Minister, ParkashSingh Badal and the former Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, urged both of them to shun such gimmicks and to affix the photograph of Bhagat Puran Singh, founder of the Pingalwara, on the 108Ambulances to pay tributes to the great servant of the humanity as well as to set a trend - setting example of not hankering after taking credit of public utility services at the cost of public money.
Parvinder Singh Kittna, general secretary, HELP, while terming the controversy over the affixing of photo on the 108 Ambulances uncalled for, lamented that it had not only been creating a law and order problem but inconvenience to the general public also.
