AMRITSAR: Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has set up a three-member panel to probe the Gurdwara Rakabganj clash of November 15 in New Delhi.

The panel comprises former secretary of Dharam Parchar Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) Waryam Singh; member of Akal Takht Advisory Committee Inderjit Singh Gogoani and Centre Head of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Research at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Balwant Singh.

The panel has been directed to submit its report by November 22.

The panel, accompanied by Satbir Singh, secretary of Dharam Parchar Committee, will visit Gurdwara Rakabganj as part of the probe.

It may be recalled that a clash between two factions at Gurdwara Rakabganj on Thursday morning had left 11 people injured, including two seriously.

A meeting held at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj in central Delhi to discuss a proposed amendment bill ahead of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections turned violent, with rival factions attacking each other with kirpans, leaving 11 injured.

A heated argument between supporters of the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal (Delhi) group and the Akali Dal Delhi Sarna (ADDS) group turned violent, with both factions drawing kirpans.
