ANANDPUR SAHIB: The 29th annual prize distribution function of Sri Dasmesh Academy , Anandpur Sahib was held in the Academy campus today.
Punjab Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Surjit Singh Rakhra,who is also vice chairman of the Academy Trust, was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address, Rakhra expressed his satisfaction over the improvement in the functioning of the Academy,which was once on the verge of closure.He expressed the hope that it would be one of the top educational institutions of the country in the coming years.
He also lauded the achievement of the Academy in different fields.
He distributed prizes to the meritorious students of the Academy.
Academy principal Col(Retd) Amarjit Singh presented annual report of the academy and highlighted the achievements of the Academy in education and other fields.
Academy director Maj Gen (Retd) J.S.Ghuman also spoke on the occasion.Students of the Academy presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion.
