AMRITSAR: In a significant development whichwould seriously effect the future of Congress in Majha, especially Amritsar thousands of Congressmen, including various sitting MCs, Ex-MCs and Ex. President of Nagar Council, Jandiala, bid adieu to Congress and joined SAD, at Jandiala here today. Prominent among those who joined SAD were Ravinder Pal Singh Kuku, Ex-President Jandiala Nagar Council and Gen. Secretary Congress, Kulwant Singh MC, Surinder Kaur MC, Vijay Rani MC, Baldev Raj Vinayak Ex. MC, Sukhminder Singh Goldy MC, Tajinder Singh Happy MC, Rakesh Kumar Tonny MC, Manwinder Singh Malowal, Ashok Sharma Ex. MC, Haridev Sharma Ex. MC, Mohinder Singh Virk Ex. Vice President Nagar Council Jandiala, Jagdeep Singh Judge President Youth Congress Jandiala Guru and Inder Singh Ex. MC.
The switch over is a big set back for Congress as the massive "quit congress move" is bound to create ripples in congress and also cause a major dent in the congress vote bank throughout Majha. The event assumed larger annotation as it reflected thechange in brand image of SAD from Panthak Party to a secular party. It was for the first time ever that thousands of members of Hindu Community together chose to leave their parent party and come into the fold of SAD
Meanwhile, welcoming Kuku and his team into the fold of SAD, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, President Youth Akali Dal, appreciated his move and assured full respect & responsibility in the party. He said honest, loyal and dedicated people are always a welcome into SAD. Later, talking to media, Mr. Majithia said that people at all levels have realised that it is only sincerity and dedication of SAD that can steer Punjab towards peace & prosperity. So, one after the other Pro-Punjab and Pro-People Politicians from all across Punjab are voluntarily joining SAD. Congress has nothing to offer to its workers and nothing at all to Punjab.
