CHANDIGARH: Reviewing the activities, achievements and future programmes of the Punjab Public School, Nabha in a meeting of the Board of Governors held here today, the Punjab Governor, Shivraj V. Patil asked the members to impart quality education and better infrastructure.
He asked the Headmaster to make education interactive, and develop the talent of students through inspirational method and not to depend on the traditional teaching method. He further said that we must utilize all resources available at our disposal to explore and develop the potential of our students by stretching their abilities through innovative programmes.
Patil stressed upon encouraging the students to join the army. He said that they should be educated regarding life and culture of army. He said that the Punjab Government is very positive in extending all possible help to the School. He said make some arrangements to ensure that after giving scholarship to the student he should join army, positively.
He appreciated the proposal of the School to cover the entire school building under Solar energy. Ravneer Kaur, Secretary School Education, Punjab and Dr. G. Vajralingam, Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare, Punjab were newly inducted as ex-officio members of the School Board of Governors.
The Headmaster, Jagpreet Singh read the report of the School and apprised the Governor regarding the ongoing development work of the School.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister, Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Rakesh Singh, Chief Secretary, M.P. Singh Principal Secretary to Governor, Ravneet Kaur, Secretary Education, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) T.K. Sapru, John Masson, Educationist, Brig. Sukhjeet Singh.
