LUDHIANA:Dr [Prof] Tej K Kaul , Ex Prof & Head [Anesthesiology & Resuscitation],at D.M.C.H Ludhiana was installed as National President of ‘Research Society Of Anesthesiology’ [RSACP] for two years by it’s Governing council at the concluding session of 22nd Annual National Conference of RSACP held at Hotel Clarks Amer , Jaipur from 26th to 28th Oct 2012.
He took over from the outgoing President Brig K.K.Upadhya. More than a thousand delegates attended this conference besides many from foreign lands. In his maiden speech after taking over as President, Kaul thanked the delegates & the Governing council , for their love & confidence, to see him elected & installed as President RSACP .He elaborated the challenges ahead, as the bench markers laid by his predecessors were high & exemplary. He assured & promised his complete effort & sincerity to work tirelessly & sincerely to ensure Anesthesiologists get their due recognition, status & dignity in the profession & society.
He stressed that Anesthesiologists should play vital & useful role outside the four walls of the Operation theatres like Pain relief / Critical care / Intensive care / Resuscitation / Trauma services & also Hospital administration because of their knowledge in almost all branches of Medicine.
Medical institute’s rapport & status is dependant to a great extent on the clinical acumen & proficiency of its Anesthesia wing. He stressed all to work tirelessly, efficiently & honestly & keep abreast with the latest & be a part of “Continuous Medical Education” programme regularly. He also promised to help improve the quantity & the quality of research in Anesthesiology in India.
Kaul , remained ‘Chief Editor’ of JOACP [ Journal Of Anesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology ] a Pub-Med indexed journal for 10 years[ 2000 to 2010 ]. He has to his credit many orations, about 40 guest lectures in the country & abroad, besides more than 100 publications in national & international journals.
