Ludhiana Cong pays tribute to Indira Gandhi

LUDHIANA: Glowing tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Ms Indira Gandhi on her 95th birth anniversary here today. The main function was held at the Congress Bhawan which was held under the chairmanship of the DCC, Ludhiana (urban) president Pawan Dewan. 

The party leaders paid floral tributes to Ms Gandhi’s portrait and recalled her great sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the country.Speaking on the occasion Pawan Dewan pointed out, Ms Gandhi laid down her life for safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country. He said, not only did she give her life to the country, but she had laid down the vision for its progress. 

Her garibi hatao programme improved the life of millions and millions of people in the country. He said, greatest tribute to her would be to follow her footsteps and the ideals she set for the nation.

Prominent among those present included Varinder Sehgal, Parminder Mehta, Rakesh Sharma, Navneesh Malhotra, Sunny Kainth, Rohit Pahwa, Vikram Pehlwan, Gurmukh Singh Mithu, Vinod Kumar Pamma, Sadhu Ram Singhi, Surinder Sharma, VK Arora, Rinku Malhotra, Prof. HS Lali, Dinesh Singla, Raj Kumar Pappi, RK Lekhi, Suresh Bhagat, Anil Parti and others.
