LUDHIANA: A Chrysanthemum Show cum Competition and on the spot photography competition was held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana. This show was organized in pursuance of the ideal of Balihari Kudrat Vaseya adopted by the management of the Gurdwara.

Thousands of flower Pots having Chrysanthemum flowers in different shapes, colors and hues presented a very rare spectacle.The Chrysanthemum competition was held in thirteen different categories of the flower along with flower pot arrangement. The photography competition  was held in three categories; under 12 years on the theme of flowers and faces, 12 to 18 years on the theme of colors of nature and over 18 years on the theme of Rhythm and contrast. 

The President of the Gurdwara Jatinder Singh Sandhu while thanking the visitors, participants and the experts said that Gurdwara was committed to expand the horizon of its environment promotion where in it has started plantation and promotion of flowers in the area of Sarabha Nagar. 

The chief guest of the show Dr.Khem Singh Gill, former vice chancellor of Punjab Agriculture University congratulated the gurdwara management for arranging such a show to promote the environment. Dr. Ranjit Singh Retd. a member of gurdwara management committee gave details of the concept according to which the gurdwara was promoting environment Education and checking drug addiction and female foeticide. 

Dr. Ranjit Singh, Horticulture expert of the Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana gave knowledge about the Chrysanthemum flower and emphasized on promoting flower culture. Dr. Khem Singh Gill gave away the prizes to the winners in the Chrysanthemum competition and on the spot photography competition.
