Media should be free from external pressures: Aamir

Saturday, December, 08 2012 - 13:20

NEW DELHI: Superstar Aamir Khan feels Indian media should report without any external pressures, as different people perceive and portray things in different ways.

"I think it is up to us and people to decide how we portray what is happening. News is about reporting and with what perception you want to report. Different people have different perceptions," Aamir said at the Agenda Aaj Tak held here Friday.

"All of us, and even media houses, want to report responsibly, without any external pressure and if that can happen, we would be very happy," he added.

The 47-year-old had produced "Peepli Live", which was a satirical take on the media. But the actor believes media is very powerful and has the potential to bring big changes in the society.

"I believe media is very more powerful than before. It has power to bring big changes and simultaneously the responsibility also increases. Media plays a dynamic role. We are in that age where communication is very advanced and the meaning of mass communication has changed because of internet," he said.
