CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice to the State of Punjab for Friday on anticipatory bail application filed in Patiala land scam by former deputy commissioner Vikas Garg.
On the order of state government, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, had conducted an in depth inquiry regarding alleged fraudulent sale of government land situated on Rajbaha road, District Patiala, and a report was submitted to the Government.
The government considered the report of the Bureau and ordered the registration of a criminal case against all those allegedly found involved in the scam.
Accordingly, FIR number 23 dated November 9, 2012, under Section 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act was registered at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala.
It was registered against N.P.Singh, Yashpal Aggarwal, Davinder Singh Sandhu, Ravdeep Singh, Jaswant Singh, Vikas Garg, IAS, Ex-Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, Rajbir Singh, Ex-DRO, Patiala, Gurinder Singh Walia, Naib Tehsildar, Patiala, Pritpal Singh, Kangoo, Suresh Kumar, Patwari, Revenue Halka Patiala.
The additional session judge of Patiala had on November 23 rejected his pre arrest bail. It was alleged the officials had executed the land sale deed for a mere Rs. 6.3 crore, whereas the divisional commissioner had pegged the price of the land at Rs. 250 crore. It clearly showed that the accused had extended undue consideration to the buyer and money had exchanged hands.
