Politicians should play constructive role in law making: Atwal

CHANDIGARH: Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assembly,  exhorted the politicians to play constructive role in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies to formulate laws. Atwal was speaking in Uttrakhand Legislative Assembly during an orientation program for the members of assembly.

Speaking on the topic of “Processes of legislation in the Parliament and State Assemblies, Atwal said it was a matter of concern that the legislation work in the parliament and assemblies was decreasing day by day. He said the politicians are duty bound to maintain the decorum in parliament and assemblies to preserve the sacredness of these supreme legislation making bodies.

The program was organized by Bureau of Parliamentarian Studies. During the function, Dr. Aziz Qureshi, Governor of Uttrakhand, Vijay Bahuguna, Chief Minister, Gobind Singh Kunjwal, Speaker and Indra Hirdesh, Minister for Parliamentary affairs were also present.
