Thapar demands 4 tickets for women candidates in upcoming general elections

CHANDIGARH: Mahila Congress Punjab has demanded at least 4 seat share in the ticket distribution for the coming Lok Sabha elections from the party observers who are visiting different parliamentary constituencies in the state.
Speaking at the state level meeting of Punjab Mahila Congress in Chandigarh, the President Dr. Malti Thapar said that we will press these visiting observers to ensure the party high command to give 33% representation to the woman in the ticket distribution. Already two women candidates are the sitting MPs from Punjab, Mahila Congress will demand two more seats to be given to woman quota from Punjab.
Thapar said that Mahila congress has deserving faces who have done remarkable work in their respective constituencies. Mahila Congress will aggressively take up the issues of aam aadmi, misuse of funds by the Punjab Government, rise in crime graph in the state of Punjab, rise in woman atrocities in Punjab, taking credit for the central sponsored schemes by the Punjab Government etc. among the woman folk and voters of Punjab.
Thapar said that people of the country have started understanding stage managed negative propaganda against Congress by BJP. With every passing day truth has started coming out the so called 2G loss or Coalgate. It is shameful that how BJP leaders have in a planned manner tried to tamper the report of Auditors in 2G to defame Congress.
She further said that BJP is the only party whose one national president is behind the bars and other is ready to go.Thapar said that Mahila Congress is drawing a fool proof strategy to combat the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and BJP government in Punjab. Mahila Congress will organise a mega seminar in the second week of December on the “Crime and Atrocities against woman in Punjab” in Chandigarh where in Mohsina Kidwai will be the chief guest along with different social and woman help groups from Punjab participating in it.
More than 1,000 young girl students will be invited to participate in the seminar from the nearby educational institutes. The seminar would be an interactive session in which every participant will be given a chance to air her grievances.
Thapar raised the issue of woman atrocities in the state meeting and asked the Mahila Congress workers to compile a fact and figure report on this within three months quoting actual cases in their constituencies.
Thapar quoted shruti abduction case as example of rise in crime graph against woman in the state of Punjab under the SAD(B) BJP combine rule.In a resolution Punjab Mahila Congress praised and congratulated the Action Committee, other organizations and people of Punjab for carried out peaceful agitation to counter the state sponsored organized crime against women.
It is unfortunate that Punjab Government still trying to obstruct a fair inquiry in this case. She congratulated the family of Shruti who in spite of all odds courageously faced the state sponsored terrorists like Malala of Pakistan who faced the Talibans.
