NANKANA SAHIB/CHANDIGARH:  Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, who is on 5 day visit to Pakistan, today paid obeisance at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib-the birth place of first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji and prayed for early normalization of relations of India and Pakistan. He said that warmth being shown by people from both Punjab would melt the artificial borders.

Accompanied by Member of Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Dr. Rattan Singh Ajnala and his cabinet colleagues including  Sikander Singh Maluka,  Bikram Singh Majithia,  Sharanjit Singh Dhillon,  Sarwan Singh Phillaur,  Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM,  Inderbir Singh Bolaria,  Harmeet Singh Dhillon,  Sarup Chand Singla,  Virsa Singh Valtoha (all Chief Parliamentary Secretaries)  Pargat Singh and  Deep Malhotra (both MLAs) and other members of delegation,  Badal prayed for lasting peace in India and Pakistan and speedy restoration of trade and commerce between both countries. 

Badal said that it was his good fortune that he could bow to the sacred soil of Nankana Sahib, where first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born. He said that it was the desire of every Sikh that he should get blessings from Nankana Sahib and with his blessings I could get opportunity to bow my head here. He said that it was the desire of every person having faith in Guru Granth Sahib that he should get an opportunity to have uninterrupted darshan of Sikh religious places located in Pakistan.

He said that he had prayed to God that let the Almighty to open all artificial barriers between two countries so that Sikhs could fulfill their desire in paying obeisance at Nankana Sahib and Panja Sahib.  Badal said that he had already requested Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab  Shahbaz Sharif to take up this issue with the Federal Government for early decision.

He said that he along with Chief Minister of Punjab in India  Parkash Singh Badal has already taken up this issue with the Union Government and requested Pak Punjab CM to take up this issue with his Federal Government. Badal also visited Gurdwara Tambu Sahib and Member Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal visited all the 7 Gurdwaras located in Nankana Sahib and its vicinity and Mrs. Badal and all delegates partook Langar at Nankana Sahib.

Mrs. Badal also performed Langar Sewa. Sham Singh, President Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committed bestowed robe of honour to Deputy Chief Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Cabinet colleagues besides member of the delegation. ‘s
