Unmanned railway crossing claims life of man

JALANDHAR: Blast Regulating machine used to press stones and gravels on railway tracks claimed the life of a Shahkot resident Vijay Kumar when his indigo car was hit by it on an unmanned railway crossing near Mulewal Khaira village in Shahkot this afternoon.

The deceased was on his way to his village Miyanwal Arayian in his indigo car PB 03 L 8005 when the BRM hit his car on the unmanned railway crossing near Mulewal Khaira village.

Divisional Railway Manager Naresh Chand and Divisional Railway Commercial Manager Punam Kumar rushed to the site of accident but did not order for any inquiry. They said that neither the BRM operator nor the car owner was at fault.

In another incident the railway police recovered a dead body of a youth from the railway tracks near Guru Nanal Pura railway crossing. The railway police sad the deceased was crushed to death by a speedy Howrah Express when he was crossing the railway track.
