’84 riots: AISSF campaign crosses 7,000 signatures in Jalandhar

JALANDHAR: More than 7,000 forms have signed the 1984 Sikh genocide petition, a campaign launched by All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) under the directions of Jathedar Akal Takht Gyani Gurbachan Singh. 

A petition which will be presented to the United Nations in the month of November by AISSF and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a human rights organization, highlighting the brutal massacre of the Sikh community in November 1984 followng the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and denial of justice to the victims even 28 years after the unfortunate incident.

Dr Harsharanjit Kaur Kaler, a senior leader of the women’s wing AISSF was present at Doaba Khalsa Senior Secondary Model School in the presence of Principal Harbhajan Singh Mander, AISSF president Karnail Singh Peeermohammad’s wife Sukhwinder Kaur took an active part in the signature campaign. 

Others present on the occasion were Tirlok Singh, Shaby, Mandeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Simmy Sharma and Vimalpreet Kaur.
