Aayush and Mandeep bolster Chandigarh to 243-6 with century partnership

CHANDIGARH: Good knocks by , Aayush Sikka  (batting  65) and Mandeep Singh (batting 61) and their unbeaten 112-run partnership for the seventh wicket bolstered Chandigarh's first innings to 243 for 6 against Amritsar on the first day of the Punjab Inter-District Under-19 Cricket Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy at IS Bindra PCA Stadium here today.
Chandigarh won the toss and Ishan Goyal (25, Arjun Azad 45, 4x4s) and Arjun Azad 45, 6x4s) battled steadly and produced 61 runs for the opening wicket stand before Ishan was bowlede by Deepanshu Chadha. Chandigarh, howover, lost four quick wickets for Ayush Gautam (4), Arjun Azad, Lakshaya Rakhra (13) and Tavleen Singh (17). Chandigarh slipped to 119 for 5 in 56.1 overs.
At 119 Chandigarh lost another wicket of Rajaugad Bawa (3). At this stage Mandeep Singh joined Aayush Sikka and they frustrated Amritrsar bowlers as they stitched a century partnmership. They carried the total to 243 for 6 from 131 for 6. Aayush batting batting on 65 and has so far hit eight boundaries. Mandeep's unbeaten 61 has so far contained nine boundaries.
Deepanshu Chadha (2 for 57) and Arjun Puppal (2 for 36) were the most successful bowlers for Amrisar.
