Attacks on Sikhs: DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK leads deputation to Shillong

CHANDIGARH: Manjit Singh GK President of SAD(Badal) Delhi and also President of Delhi Gurdawara Management Committee (DSGMC) today reached Shillong in Meghalaya alongwith a deputation of Delhi Sikh leaders including Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Gurjit Singh Bhogal.

Manjit Singh GK and others who reached Gowhati by air travelled to Shillong by road. In a video loaded on social media Manjit Singh GK said that they have rushed to Shillong on the orders of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal who talked to Meghalaya CM in the morning. He said that Sikhs were beiong attacked in Shillong and situation is not good there. He said that a local tribe was attacking the Sikhs. The DSGMC delegation would meet the CM and seek protection for the Sikhs in Shillong. He said that they would try to find a permanent solution to the confrontation between Sikh community and local tribes. He said that a minor incident flared into violence.

Manjit Singh said that Meghalaya CM has informed that Sikhs were given full protection. GK said that they would go to Gurdawara where large number Sikhs were holed up.
