GURUGRAM : The Haryana Government has decided to set up a cultural centre over 10 acres of land in Sector 53 of Gurugram City at a cost of about Rs 184 crore. Tenders for the centre would be floated this week.
This was informed at a meeting held in Gurugram late last evening to review work on CM’s announcements made in the four Assembly constituencies of Gurugram district. The Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, presided over the meeting.
He directed the officers not to cause any unnecessary delay in implementation of CM’s announcements if they did not want to invite action. Any dereliction of duty would not be tolerated, he added.
Discussions were held on various CM’s announcements for the area, including multi-level parking, Government College at Farukhnagar, construction of a by pass at Pataudi, establishing Government College for Women at Manesar, construction of mini-Bal Bhavan at Heli Mandi, construction of a road from Sidhrawali to Parasoli via Lohucbuca and cultural centre in Sector 53.
The other announcements included relocation of meat shops, construction of an auto market, international level railway station, new bus-stand at Gurugram, construction of community centres in Wazirabad and Sector 14, opening of a driving training school, establishing a medical college, completion of under construction indoor stadium at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, and laying sewerage lines at village Bhondsi.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to identify about 10 places to construct multi-level parking. There is a proposal to establish multi-level parking at three places. These include Kaman Sarai, Veterinary Hospital near Sadar Bazar, and old jail near Sohna Chowk.
The Chief Minister approved relaxation of one kilometre for opening government college in Farukhnagar block. As per the policy of the state government, the college could be established at a distance of every 20 kilometres, and the college at Hailey Mandi is 19 kilometres away from Farukhnagar.
Steps are being taken for setting up Government College for Women at Manesar. Cases are being sent for getting clearances from the Forest and Environment Departments. However, admissions have already been started from this academic session and classes are being held at Government Polytechnic Institute, Manesar.
Regarding relocation of the meat shops in Gurugram city, it was informed that two places namely, Gadoli Kalan and Choma villages, had been identified for this purpose and no one had any objection. Slaughterhouse would be established on 2.5 acres of land in the village of Rojka Meo made available by the HSIIDC.
The Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, raised the issue of shifting of high tension wires above Patel Nagar. The Chief Minister ordered shifting of these wires and said the entire expenses would be borne by the Municipal Corporation.
