Rayat Bahra Group introduces new vocational courses

DHARAMSHALA: Rayat-Bahra group of institutions, which has 18 years of excellence in academics, has decided to introduce a series of new courses of study keeping in view the demand of the employment market. These new courses had immense employment potential and were planned to prepare students to get jobs in different sectors.

Announcing this at a media briefing here today, Dr Suresh Seth, Director of the Ropar campus, and Dr Chander Mohan, Director of the Rayat Bahra, Hoshiarpur campus, said that the new courses of study included B Voc which were skill oriented programmes in collaboration with the National Skill Development Council, an apex body at Centre level, and the IKG Punjab Technical University.

Dr Suresh Seth said this course guarantees placement in various sectors like Beauty and Wellness, Life Sciences, Hardware & Networking, Tourism & Hospitality, Aeronautical and aviation (Air Hostess and Cabin Crew) etc.  These courses are job oriented and the concerned Skill Sector Council and the concerned industry assures the placement of the students after completion course each year.

Dr Seth further stressed that these courses have various levels and a student can join and leave the course at three different stages all getting validated certification of Diploma, Advanced Diploma & Bachelor degree.

He also announced that the Skill Development Centre (Under the Punjab Skill Development Mission) to bridge the gap between unemployed and uneducated, was training youth in 12 different sectors including automobile, healthcare, agriculture, food, retail, financial services and insurance industry (Banking), electronics, IT and ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services), pharmacy, and telecom.

 Dr Chander Mohan said that the Rayat Bahra Hoshiapur campus had introduced a new course in fashion designing and B Sc (Agriculture) which has great employment potential. The pass-outs could also become entrepreneurs setting up their own ventures. He said that the Rayat Bahra Group had campuses nearest to the boundaries of Himachal Pradesh. The Group offered over 75 programmes according to the needs of the students namely agriculture, pharmacy, management, engineering, education, law & nursing

Listing the laudable performance of the Rayat-Bahra Group on the placement front, Dr Chander Mohan said that the Group had been able to place over 23000 students of Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Diploma and other degree courses and the upcoming courses will immensely increase the placements. The highest and lowest packages to the placed students of the current batch ranged from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 3 lakh and included top-multinational companies.

The two senior functionaries of the Rayat Bahra Group also announced that a new course, B Sc (Agriculture) had also been introduced in both the Ropar and Hoshiarpur campuses. This, they hoped , would be a big hit with the students in view of the employment potential that the course had.
