Congress to form next government at centre, would win all 13 seats in Punjab, says Preneet Kaur

PHAGWARA:  Former Union Minister and Senior Congress leader Smt Preneet Kaur today said that the Congress party would form next government at the centre and win all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in state during the ensuing general elections.

The former Union Minister, who was here to attend a function Lohri Dhian Di organised by NGO World Wide Scope Welfare Society, said that mood of country was crystal clear that people were totally fed up by the anti-people policies of the Modi. She said that simmering anger against the Modi government was reflective from the results of recently concluded assembly polls for five states in which BJP was totally wiped out. Mrs Preneet Kaur said that out of five the people’s verdict came in favor of Congress in three and regional parties in two which proved that people were eagerly waiting for ousting the Modi government due to its anti-people policies.

The former Union Minister said that it was a writing on the wall that Congress would form government at the centre and usher in a new era of unprecedented development in the country. She said that as far as the state was concerned the Congress party would win all the 13 Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab. Mrs Preneet Kaur also slammed the BJP Government on Rafel issue.

Earlier addressing the gathering, the former Union Minister said that the state government was making strenuous efforts for safeguarding the future of our coming generations . She said that due focus has been laid on checking female foeticide on one hand and weaning away the youth of state from drug menace in the other. Mrs Preneet Kaur also said that the state government was also making stupendous efforts for opening new vistas of Employment for the youth to make them active partners in socio-economic growth of the country.

The former Union Minister also envisioned that 50% reservation for women in Panchayat and MC polls would go a long way in transforming destiny of women by making them active partners in decision making process. Lauding the NGO for organising the event, she said that it would be helpful in reversing the trend of gender discrimination with the girls. Mrs Preneet Kaur also distributed sweets and gifts to mothers of girl child on the occasion.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included MLA Mr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Chairman Markfed Amarjeet Singh Samra, former Punjab Minister Joginder Singh Mann, General Secretary Punjab Pradesh Congress Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, Senior Congress leader Karamjit Chaudhary, Sub Divisional Magistrate Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amrik Singh Chahal, Sarabjit Rai and Surinder Mohan besides others.
