Ex Army Chief JJ Singh joins SAD(Taksali)

CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Akali Dal(Taksali) today got a shot in the arm when SAD(Badal) leader and former chief of Indian army Col. J.J.Singh joined the SAD(Taksali) headed by Rajya Sabha MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura at Amritsar.

J.S.Singh is also former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. He had contested 2017 Punjab assembly election from Patiala against Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on the SAD(Badal) ticket. Col.JJ Singh was the first Sikh to become chief of Indian army and was architect of India's victory against Pakistan in kargil war.

Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Bir Devinder Singh has also joined SAD(Taksali) yesterday. He was welcomed by Brahmpura and senior Vice President Rattan Singh Ajnala and Secretary Genmeral Sewa Singh Sekhwan into the party.

Brahmpura said that he was proud of the fact that first Sikh Chief of army has joined their aprty. His presence will be huge support for the party.

JJ Singh said that he would work for the SAD(Taksali) with full dedication. He regretted his decision of joining SAD(Badal). He criticised Badals and Capt Amarinder Singh for not punishing the accused of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
