CHANDIGARH: Sukhpal Singh Khaira President of Punjabi Ekta Party(PEP) today accused Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for misusing the public money to further political agenda of Congress party and demanded to refund tax payers money.

In a statement issued here Khaira said that Punjab Government had incurred expenditure of political rally of AICC president Rahul Gandhi at Moga.

He said that that all expenses including Pandal, transportation, food, hiring of an expensive singer like Jassi and compensation for 100 acres wheat crop cut prematurely to facilitate the rally has been paid by the Punjab government. If this is true then in what capacity did Rahul Gandhi preside over a govt debt waiver function? In other words Congress played a cheap trick to use taxpayers money to further its political agenda in view of ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

He said that after the rally at Moga today Rahul Gandhi also addressed a political rally at Kangra organised by the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), which clearly indicates that the rally at Moga was also a part of the election campaign launched by the Congress party for Lok Sabha polls. PEP strongly condemns misuse of government money for political purposes and demands that Congress should pay all the expenses from its party account. People’s money used for this rally should be deposited back to the treasury without any further delay. Rahul Gandhi and Capt Amarinder Singh should tender a public apology for this cheapest level of politicking at the cost of taxpayers money.
